CITY, SCHOOL ELECTIONS 2025
Billy Alvarado has announced that he is a candidate for Place 5 on the Cotulla City Council in the municipal election on Saturday, May 3.
Alvarado has lived in Cotulla for two years and has been employed for the past seven years as a project manager for the Texas Department of Transportation, overseeing roadway construction sites and budgets for the San Antonio district. He is a former police lieutenant from Pineville, Louisiana, where he served for 15 years. He also worked in the oil and gas industry for 15 years throughout Texas with Big E Drilling.
“I have worked with budgets, managed staff as well as subordinates,” Alvarado said. “I feel that makes me a qualified candidate for city council. I believe in helping people and not trying to take advantage of them. It brings joy to my heart, knowing that I can help someone when I am able.
“For the last year, I have attended numerous council meetings and watched until I could no longer stand on the sidelines,” the candidate said. “I want to make a change in this government. I have no ties to this community, but it is now my home and I want to try to make it better for everyone.
“As an outsider, I see the need for many different things,” he said. “That’s what elected officials should do, serve the people. I humbly ask for the people’s support and vote in this election. My door will always be open to anyone. I hope that people will vote for change and vote for Billy Alvarado.”
