2025 WOLFPACK RELAYS
Mavericks finish third at annual Wolfpack Relays; Cowboys fifth, Dilley ninth.

The Mavericks continued their improvement this track and field season, finishing third overall at the nine-team Wolfpack Relays in Dilley on Wednesday, March 5 at Gosch Field.
Lytle won the boys’ division with a staggering 143.5 points while San Antonio Holy Cross was second with 97.5 points.
Pearsall tallied 78 points, performing well in speed events and all three relays.
Cotulla finished fifth at the event while Dilley was ninth as all three local schools were in attendance at the annual event.
The Maverick sprint relay team took first overall, clocking in at 43.62 with team members Abel Elizondo, Samuel Martinez, Dillon Wolfe, Ethan Vela. The 800m relay team of Samuel Martinez, Jeremy Rodriguez, Abel Elizondo, Jose Rocha was second overall in that event with a time of 1:33.74. Jose Rocha won gold in the triple jump with a leap of 41′ while Jeremy Rodriguez took second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.40.
Cotulla’s Brayden Rodriguez won the 200m dash for the Cowboys with a time of 22.64 and the high jump with a leap of 5’10” and also finished fourth with the sprint and 800m relay teams.
Dilley’s Matthew Montoys was second in the 400m dash with a time of 52.55.

In the varsity girls’ field, Dilley finished seventh overall while Pearsall was eighth. Cotulla was 11th overall in the girls’ division.
Alyssa Perez was a bright spot for the Lady Wolves as she took third in the 100m dash with a time of 13.52, was sixth in the 200m dash at 28.85. She was also fourth in the long jump at 14’9″ and fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 30’9″.
Pearsall saw success in all three relay events as the team of Kaley Briseno, Angelyna Montes, Gezlynn Wolfe, Sariah Longoria finished fourth in the sprint relay, Abcde Martinez, Gezlyn Wolfe, Angelyna Montes, Sariah Longoria were also third in both the 800m and mile relays.

All three schools were off this week due to the Spring Break holiday but will return to action next week. Pearsall will be in Devine for the Warhorse Relays on Wednesday, March 19 while Dilley will be in Poth on Thursday, March 20. Cotulla will be in action on Thursday, March 20 at Hebbronville.
