COUNTY ARRESTS
Twenty-six individuals were arrested in La Salle County over the past two weeks on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges and on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, March 10, and Sunday, March 23, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Noe Salgado, 36, of Cotulla; arrested 9:25 p.m. Monday, March 10, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2; released on bond after 20 hours.
Cris Anne Rodriguez, 33, of Cotulla; arrested 6:48 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace for Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury; released on bond after four hours.
Romeo Del Castillo, 30, of Fort Worth, Texas; arrested 11:56 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 14 hours.
Juan Angel Castillo, 35, of Cotulla; arrested 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Jose Angel Tomas Lopez, 21, of Encinal; arrested 1:38 a.m. Friday, March 14, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by Pct. 2 JP for driving without a license and material attached to vehicle windshield (two counts); released on bond after 12 hours.
Maria Lydia Ellis, 46, of Pearsall; arrested 12:32 p.m. Friday, March 14, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after four hours.
Jose Angel De La Cerda, 53, of Harlingen, Texas; arrested 10:41 p.m. Friday, March 14, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, Class A misdemeanor evading arrest; released on bond after 13 hours.
Mayra Alvarez, 37, of Encinal; arrested 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, by the Encinal PD; state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Class A misdemeanor terroristic threat against a family or household member; released on bond after 23 hours.
Joseph Francisco De La Garza, 25, of Lytle, Texas; arrested 10:42 p.m. Saturday, March 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor racing on highway; released on bond after 13 hours.
Steven Borrego, 25, of Cotulla; arrested 5:05 a.m. Sunday, March 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after eight hours.
Orlando Perez, 27, of Encinal; arrested 6:40 p.m. Sunday, March 16, by the Encinal PD; warrant issued by the US Marshals Service, Laredo, for probation violation on a charge of human smuggling; transferred after 17 hours.
Mark Anthony Ramirez, 28, of San Antonio; arrested 2:50 p.m. Monday, March 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; bench warrant issued in La Salle District Court for felony aggravated robbery; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Jonathon Longoria Menchaca, 36, of San Antonio; arrested 6:32 p.m. Monday, March 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; bench warrant issued in La Salle County for felony aggravated robbery; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Roberto Rogelio Martinez Jr., 43, of Cotulla; arrested 1:41 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; bench warrant issued in La Salle District Court for felony aggravated robbery; transferred after 23 hours.
Sergio Beltran-Rodriguez, 30, of Lewisville, Texas; arrested 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, (arresting agency not listed); warrants issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on third-degree felony smuggling of persons (six counts); remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Joe Delsantos Perales Jr., 36, of Cotulla; arrested 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after 21 hours.
Erick Nathan Perales, 21, of Cotulla; arrested 1:25 a.m. Thursday, March 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor public intoxication; released on bond after 17 hours.
Matthew Perales, 21, of Cotulla; arrested 1:40 a.m. Thursday, March 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on criminal trespass; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Matias Garcia III, 54, of Cotulla; arrested 5:05 a.m. Thursday, March 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after 12 hours, under house arrest with GPS monitor.
Pedro Sandoval Jr., 47, of Cotulla; arrested 5:06 a.m. Thursday, March 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Juan Oscar Membreno-Blanco, 48, of Cotulla; arrested 6:32 p.m. Thursday, March 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on Class A misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (second offense); remained in jail Monday, March 24, on hold for US immigration authorities.
Tawanna Danielle Pearson, 37, of Sikeston, Missouri; arrested 11:40 p.m. Thursday, March 20, by the Texas DPS; warrants issued in Mississippi County, Arkansas, for first-degree felony assault and felony engaging in armed criminal activity; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Carlos Enrique Perales, 43, of Cotulla; arrested 12:18 a.m. Saturday, March 22, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor public intoxication; released on bond after 12 hours.
Martha Joanna Rivera, 40, of Zapata, Texas; arrested 10:37 p.m. Saturday, March 22, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Webb County for probation violation on felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1; remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Ashley Rose Bocanegra, 39, of Cotulla; arrested 3:23 p.m. Sunday, March 23, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in San Antonio for engaging in organized crime (two counts); remained in jail Monday, March 24.
Luis Angel Martinez, 27, of San Antonio; arrested 7:33 p.m. Sunday, March 23, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on felony smuggling of persons (five counts); remained in jail Monday, March 24.
*Editor’s note: Those listed as remaining in jail on March 24 may since have been transferred or released on bond.
