Horacio Peralta
Frio County sheriff’s deputies were successful last week in capturing a wanted fugitive who was allegedly operating a narcotics business out of a local motel room.
Pearsall native Horacio Peralta, 41, was wanted on several warrants for a slew of felony offenses ranging from burglary to drug possession.
Investigating deputies are reporting that after receiving credible tips from citizens, they discovered Peralta was staying at a west-side motel and was allegedly selling methamphetamine. A search warrant was carried out at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.
When deputies arrived at the business on Comal Street, they found Peralta walking across the parking lot to the motel’s office.
Peralta was immediately arrested. Officers searched him and found narcotics in the pocket of his shorts.
Although a subsequent search of the hotel room revealed no additional narcotics, deputies reported finding drug paraphernalia.
Peralta was transported to the Frio County Jail without further incident and faces a third-degree felony charge for possession of methamphetamine.
