A standout commitment to duty, integrity, and community service has earned Pearsall Police Department Sergeant Detective Reymundo Dominguez the prestigious title of Officer of the Year 2025.
The honor, awarded annually by the department, recognizes an officer who exemplifies excellence, professionalism, and dedication to law enforcement.
Sgt. Dominguez has served with the department for three years and was celebrated during a meeting attended by fellow officers earlier this month.
“This officer, from day one, has displayed unwavering commitment to this department and its officers on and off the so-called clock,” Captain J. Gutierrez wrote in a recommendation letter. “This officer has shown initiative, drive, and intestinal fortitude with many levels of responsibility and accountability.”
The police sergeant began his career in law enforcement in 2014 with the Webb County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Pearsall Police Department three years ago.
A graduate of the Laredo Police Academy, he has steadily risen through the ranks, earning the respect of colleagues and community leaders alike, according to the department in a prepared statement.
“I am very grateful,” the sergeant said of his accolade. “Hard work does pay off in the end. Honor the badge, respect the sacrifice and never forget the service. It took a lot for me to get here, it is about doing what is right when no one is looking and it has paid off.”
