Susan Shelton Hinnant

Susan Shelton Hinnant, 70, of Pearsall, died on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by her family.  She was born December 21, 1955, in San Antonio to Howard M. and Sue Salmon Shelton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Franklin Crawford and brother James “Jim” Shelton.  Susan is survived by her children Lamar (Amanda) Hinnant of San Antonio, Thomas (Jennifer) Hinnant of Devine and Katie (Ben) Millies of Pearsall, her sister Roxanne Shelton of Pearsall, sister Jenefer (Wesley) Ellgen of Pearsall, brother Howard “Willie” Shelton of Devine, niece Karlee Shelton of Lubbock and nephew Kyle Shelton of College Station. She is also survived by grandchildren Tyler, Dylan and Brooklyn Hinnant, Benjamin Millies and Susannah Hinnant.

A lifelong resident of Pearsall, Susan was the owner of Shelton Cleaner’s, one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Pearsall. She enjoyed the outdoors from an early age on the family farm, where she rode horses all over Pearsall with her sisters and friends. That hobby transition into scuba diving and snorkeling in Mexico or water skiing with friends. She most enjoyed fishing of any kind, whether at her favorite lake, in the Gulf of Mexico, or on the bank of a pond. She could often be found helping her grandchildren bait a hook and clean fish over the last few years.
