ALL-DISTRICT BASKETBALL
Despite a winless league campaign, Dilley’s Lady Wolves had four players named to the 28-3A All-District basketball team, which was released following the conclusion of the season.
Senior Mia Rendon was the lone first-team selection while Danica Cano earned second-team accolades.
Jnessa Nickles and Thalyla Obregon were both given honorable mention.
Dilley struggled through a 3-19 campaign and were 0-8 in district play, finishing eighth in the standings.
Release of the all-district team was delayed as two of the four league representatives had lengthy playoff runs.
Jourdanton fell in the state semifinals while Crystal City fell in the regional semifinals.
Pearsall saw five members of the Mavericks basketball team earn all-district accolades following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
Senior Ayden Rodriguez was the lone 27-4A All-District first-team member while senior Jeremy Rodriguez was named to the all-district second-team.
Logan Rodriguez, Aiden Saldivar and Brayden Cabasos were each given honorable mention.
Ayden Rodriguez, Logan Rodriguez, Aiden Carrasco, Cabasos, Cristian Rojas and Mikey Maldonado were also named to the Academic All-District team for their efforts on the court and in the classroom.
A year after falling to state-ranked La Marque in the third round of the playoffs the team slumped to a 16-18 record and 0-12 mark in league play.
Cotulla’s Cowgirls had six members of its basketball team earn all-district honors at the end of their season.
The team had a pair of first-team All-District selections in junior Sareen Ramirez and junior Sienna Arevalo.
Senior Bella Linares and junior EJ Zertuche were both named to the all-district second-team while junior Christlyn Munoz and junior Victoria Medina both earned honorable mention.
Ramirez, Arevalo, Linares, Zertuche, Munoz, Medina, Randi Garcia, Jackie Alba and Angela Vargas were named to the Academic All-District team.
The Cowgirls were 13-14 this season and 5-9 and sixth in District 28-3A play.
