CASA receives donation

CONOCO PHILLIPS recently presented the Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Texas with a check for $3,500 toward their volunteer advocacy for children who have been removed from abusive or neglectful homes and are going through the foster and adoptive care processes.

The volunteer organization reaches children in several South Texas counties.

Advocates take on children’s cases and speak up for their best interests in front of a judge. Conoco Phillips’ innovative, collaborative efforts yield products that improve quality of life while producing economic benefits with far-reaching influence, including helping CASA of South Texas volunteers locally, a company press release said.

CASA’s Development Manager Bill Morang and Executive Director Joni Garcia attended the check presentation in Kenedy.
