SJRC Texas | Belong Honors Child Abuse Prevention Month in April
SJRC (St. Jude’s Ranch for Children) Texas/Belong recognizes April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, strengthening families, and working together to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
Child abuse and neglect remain critical issues affecting communities nationwide, the organization says and this month, SJRC Texas is reminding the public that prevention is possible when individuals, families, and organizations come together to support children and promote healthy relationships.
SJRC Texas fosters safe, stable, and nurturing environments, to reduce the risk of abuse and help children thrive. In 2025, the SJRC Texas Family Resources Center (FRC) served 358 families through group classes, support groups, and family-centered activities.
Additionally, through its nationally-affiliated Parents as Teachers (PAT) Program, the organization served 381 families; completed more than 2,700 visits with families; and connected families to over 865 community resources.
“By working hand in hand with partners such as Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), our caregivers, our service providers, our state partners, we’re building a network of care that identifies needs sooner, responds faster, and focuses on keeping families safely together whenever possible,” SJRC Texas | Belong CEO Tara Roussett said. “Even small actions, like checking in on a neighbor or supporting local family programs, can make a meaningful difference.”
