Garcia earns fifth place finish in first appearance at state track meet.
Cotulla freshman runner Pablo Garcia made the most of his first-ever appearance at the UIL State Trak and Field Championships, facing a tough field but still managing a fifth place overall finish in the two mile run at Mike A. Myers Stadium the University of Texas at Austin last weekend.
Garcia tallied a fifth place finish in the event, coming in with a time of 9:40.69.

Three seniors and a junior topped Garcia in the event.
Senior Noah Strohman of Holliday was the Class 3A state champion with a time of 9:02.85. Senior Ryder Strohman of Holliday made it a one-two punch for the Eagles as he was state runner-up, finishing second with a time of 9:10.48.
Canadian junior Joseph Dominguez was third at 9:26.07 and Winona senior Miguel Cedillo was fourth with a time of 9:34.44.
