A Pearsall resident was taken into custody Friday, November 3, after Frio County deputies investigating possible drug trafficking raided a home on the west side of town and discovered felony amounts of illegal narcotics.
Deputies say the department launched an investigation on 26-year-old Adrian Winters after receiving several reports from area residents regarding stop-and-go traffic at the property. Investigators have indicated that the activity is consistent with drug trade.
“We take reports like this very seriously,” Chief Deputy Peter Salinas said. “At the end of the day, these kinds of drugs are affecting the most vulnerable, our youths.”
According to a report on the case, deputies entered the residence on Washington Street Friday afternoon and found Winters inside the home.
During a subsequent search of the property, deputies discovered what they have described as large quantities of marijuana in two bedrooms. The amount, according to the sheriff’s office, elevates charges to felony level.
Winters was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor possession of synthetic marijuana and transported to the Frio County Jail without further incident.
