Pearsall Police Officer Hector Javier Palacios has died after officials say he suffered a medical emergency on the evening of Saturday, February 3.
The 40-year-old patrolman was hired by the department in April 2023.
“He was a kindhearted person and treated everyone with respect, both at the office and on patrol,” Pearsall Police Chief Daniel Flores wrote in an email Monday evening.
Ofc. Palacios began his career with the Somerset Police Department in 2015, where he worked until he joined the Pearsall department.
“I would like to say thank you to those who raised Hector,” Flores said. “He embodied many of the qualities that are often looked for in law enforcement officers. Hector will be greatly missed by everyone at the department.”
