Dilley will have water system funds
Critical upgrades to wells, treatment plant with $500k from TWDB

DILLEY CITY OFFICIALS (L-R) Councilors Rudy Alvarez, Ray Aranda, Mayor Mary Ann Obregon, Councilors Inelda Rodriguez, Alicia Machado and Alexandria Inocencio, and City Administrator Henry Arredondo have secured additional state funding for water infrastructure improvements.
The city of Dilley has been awarded $500,000 in funding from the Texas Department of Agriculture as part of a Community Development Block Grant for infrastructure improvements.
City Hall confirmed last week that the funds will go towards a range of critical upgrades in the municipal water system, notably at the wastewater treatment plant, where an aerator will be replaced and the facility’s well capacity will be expanded.
Improvements will also be made at the Civic Center water well facility and will include the installation of a permanent generator, according to City Hall, and upgrades will be made to existing pumps.
“The newly updated infrastructure will improve the community’s water quality and distribution pressure,” City Hall reported in a prepared statement at the time of the grant award.
The project is currently in the design phase and once complete, city officials say it will modernize the current water treatment process and enhance the public water system.
