Cotulla’s Juan Falcon, a Boa Luta Academy student, delivered a standout performance this past weekend at the Battleground Grappling Championship in San Antonio.
Competing in two matches, Juan showed complete control from start to finish.
Falcon secured a pair of takedowns and never allowed either of his opponents to score a single point.
In his first match, he surged to a commanding 15-0 victory, followed by an even more dominant 19-0 win in his second outing.
The back-to-back shutouts not only earned Juan the gold medal in his division, but also marked his second consecutive gold medal in competition.

“His performance highlighted his discipline, skill, and relentless work ethic, qualities he has developed through countless hours of training at Boa Luta Academy in Cotulla,” coach Jose R. Gonzalez said. “Juan put in the work, made weight, showed up day after day, and it showed on the mats this weekend.
“He’s an example of what dedication and focus can achieve, both in martial arts and in life.
“Juan’s success reflects not only his personal commitment but also the mission of Boa Luta Academy: to build good people through martial arts. Instill respect, discipline, and confidence in each student to help them fight the good fight of life.”
