A Thursday afternoon traffic stop culminated in felony narcotics charges and the capture of a wanted individual after Frio County sheriff’s deputies discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle.
The incident occurred just after noon on June 17 when deputies observed the driver of a sedan violating traffic laws as he traveled south on Mulberry Street before turning into a local RV park.
It was when the deputies contacted the three male occupants inside the vehicle that they identified a passenger as 30-year-old Eusebio Silva. According to the report on the case, Silva allegedly attempted to conceal two bags containing nearly three grams of methamphetamine during the traffic stop.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a glass pipe beneath the passenger seat and a bag of marijuana in the trunk.
According to the sheriff’s office report, a warrant for Silva’s arrest will be filed following a review of the case by the district attorney’s office. Silva faces a third-degree felony charge for possession of methamphetamine.
Emergency dispatchers confirmed the driver, 35-year-old Joshua Leal, had a prior warrant on file for drug possession.
Leal was remanded into custody at the Frio County Jail.
