Combs: Families to save $82.7 billion in state and local taxes during tax-free holiday


Families gearing up for the start of a new school year will not be charged sales tax at retail stores across Texas when they shop for supplies and clothes between Friday and Sunday, August 11-13.

The annual Texas Sales Tax Holiday, now in its 18th year, is regarded across the state as the popular threeday weekend on which parents will make most of the purchases for their children immediately before the new school year.
