City looks beyond deadline to full fiscal disclosure

Despite missing a self-imposed deadline for completing and publishing a municipal audit, Pearsall’s city manager believes results of ongoing work at his offices show improvements with which residents will be pleased.

Admitting that City Hall has published its audit beyond a 120-day deadline established by the Home Rule Charter, City Manager Charles Jackson says the work progresses without delay into a comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), which he is promoting as a further step in government transparency.
