Kaylynn Rios was district champion in four of the five events in which she competed and helped lead her Lady Mavs to the District 29-4A runner-up title during action at the district meet Wednesday and Thursday, April 4 and 5 in Crystal City.

Rios took home gold medals in two of three relay events, as well as the long jump and high jump, where she once again set another school mark. Last week at Crystal City she set the new PHS mark with a leap of 5'3” and bested that mark at the district meet with a height of 5'4”. She also narrowly missed out in her attempt at 5'6”, just clipping the bar with her heel in her final attempt at the height.
