“The levels are staying steady...”

City encourages conservation, not enforcing water restrictions


Despite ongoing drought conditions and high daytime temperatures, Pearsall City Hall announced this week that it has no plans to implement water restrictions. City Manager Charles Jackson said city staff have been monitoring water levels and have seen minimal decrease in the municipal supply.

“The levels are staying steady,” Jackson said. “If we start to see a decrease, we will implement restrictions.” A 2011 municipal ordinance orders limitations on water consumption when drought conditions hinder the guarantee of an uninterrupted water supply.
