William Hoyle

William “Bill” Ray Hoyle, age 86, of Pearsall, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Kilgore, on October 10, 1931, to parents, Clifford Ray and Mary Bell (Hill) Hoyle. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers John Clifford Hoyle and Douglas Hoyle; son, Justin Len (Jake) Hoyle. He is survived by his wife, Mona Hoyle of Pearsall; his daughter, Jacqueline Rae Hahn and husband, Monty of Medina and Kerrville; brothers, Donald Hoyle and wife, Patsy of Georgetown, and Joe Hoyle and wife, Martha of Taylor, Arkansas; grandsons, Will Hoyle and wife, Ashley of Natalia, Justin Hahn and wife, Dana of Kerville, Zachary Hahn of San Antonio; granddaughter, Erin Hahn of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Arianna Hoyle, Skylar Montoya, Cullen Hahn and Cora Hahn; along with nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends. Bill graduated high school at the age of 16 from Georgetown High School. After high school he joined the rodeo circuit and worked for the Fitzsimmons Cattle Company in Llano and Carrizo Springs. He participated in the bull riding and bare-back horse riding events. He was inducted into the U. S. Army in 1952, where he served his country honorably for two years. Bill married Mona on October 29, 1954 prior to his going to work for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission. He worked as a State Game Warden for 27 years, first stationed in McMullen County, Tilden, then in Frio County, Pearsall until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement he worked full time at cattle raising in both Frio County and in New Mexico. Memorial celebration of his life and faith will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at the First Methodist Church in Pearsall. Services will conclude at the church. Family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be given to the First Methodist Church, Pearsall or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home, Pearsall.
