Ehlerts provide herbal information...

By Kay Childers

The Cotulla Garden Club held its regular meeting on Thursday, May 9, at 10 a.m., at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The meeting was called to order by President Elda Nora Quintanilla. She also gave the pledge and prayer. Our roll call was “Our favorite Herb or Spice.” Basil won out over all other herbs. Kay Childers gave the Secretary’s report of our last meeting. Motion was made and seconded to approve our minutes. Patsy Leigh gave our treasurer’s report. We thank Leonard Brown for donating ten trees that we were able to sell for the use of our scholarships.

The Garden Club fixed and donated coffee mugs with plants to give out for the mothers at the La Salle County Nutrition Center for Mother’s Day. They enjoyed them very much. We also thanked Darlene Meyer for donating the rose bushes for the Alexander Memorial Library.
