Dilley High School celebrated their athletes accomplishments at their annual Athletic Banquet Wednesday, May 15.

The night started with a prayer for the family of Coach Juan Dominguez who passed away May 4. Dominguez was a substitute teacher at Dilley ISD and, led by Coach Flores, the entire Dilley family paid their respects to him and his family.

Following the prayer, DISD Athletic Director Lamar Rodriguez thanked the school board, superintendent, and staff of Dilley ISD for their hard work and dedication to their athletic program. Academic All-District Teams, All-State, and Honor Roll athletes were then introduced in the cafetorium.

During the ceremony, the Dilley Lady Wolves basketball team was honored for posting their best record over the past 20 years. Led by Coach Cassandra Garza, the Lady Wolves went 23-12 during the 2018-19 season. Shortly after the basketball awards, a heartfelt gift and kind words were given out from state champion shot putter Scottie Reyes to Coach Victor Flores.
