Vehicles recovered, one in custody in auto theft case

It all comes out in the wash...

One man is facing a long list of charges after Pearsall police seized a stolen vehicle and property and law enforcement are investigating the recovery of two unrelated auto thefts.

According to a report on the case, officers attempting to effect a traffic stop in downtown Pearsall on Saturday, August 31, learned the Ford F-150 was reported stolen out of San Antonio.

During the roadside interview the driver allegedly told officers he had borrowed the truck “to do his laundry.” A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a suitcase full of women’s clothing and shoes, in which the man had no explanation as to whom the items belonged too.

A mere four hours later, officers were dispatched to a hotel along Comal Street regarding a pick-up truck that had been parked in the parking lot for nearly a week. The F-250 bearing Virginia plates, did not register when the investigating officer ran it through their computer software system, according to a report on the case.
