La Vernia takes advantage of turnovers, explodes for 35 second quarter points.


Pearsall got off to the start it wanted but couldn't make the key plays needed before turnovers hit the squad in a 56-0 non-district shutout loss to La Vernia last Friday at Mack Laxson Field.

Opening on offense, Pearsall executed their gameplan to near perfection. The team drove down the field, ate up nearly nine minutes of the first quarter and had a first and goal situation at the one yard line.

“We couldn't have scripted the first drive on offense any better, other than finishing the drive, which ended a foot short of the endzone,” Pearsall AD and Head Football Coach Edward Bocanegra said. “We had two downs to get the ball in the endzone from the three yard line, but we had a false start which moved us back to the eight.
