Gerardo De La Rosa Jr.

Gerardo De La Rosa Jr., 32 died on March 8, 2019 in Austin. He was born September 14, 1986 in San Antonio, to Gerardo De La Rosa Sr. and Ana Ysabel Reyes. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Felix and Esperanza De La Rosa, Issac and San Juanita Reyes; uncles, Rene Reyes, Genaro Reyes; aunt, Juanita Torres De La Rosa.

He is survived by his daughter, Jasmin Nicole De La Rosa; step-children, Timothy Isaiah, Dominick Angel Ruiz; parents, Gerardo De La Rosa Sr., Ana Ysabel Reyes; siblings, Cynthia Francis and Lance of Pearsall, Geraldina Hostutler and Michael of Temple, Felix De La Rosa of La Grange, Veronica Favela and Pedro of La Grange.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 13, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated, Thursday, March 14, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Millett Cemetery.

Jesse Gonzalez Sr.

Jesse James Gonzalez Sr., 50 of Pearsall died on February 23, 2019. He was born on September 16, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Jesus Gonzalez and Rosa Jimenez- Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife, Martha Soto-Gonzalez; children, Jesse James Gonzalez Jr. and wife Corina, Harley Gonzalez and Victoria Ruiz and Mariah Luna; parents Jesus and Rosa Jimenez- Gonzalez of Cotulla; siblings, Rosanne Ramirez and Jesse of Cotulla, Isabel Velasquez and Jesus Gonzalez Jr.; grandchildren, Ava Faith Gonzalez and a baby girl on the way. Visitation was held on Monday, February 25, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral was celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, at Guadalupe Memorial Park, at 2 p.m. in New Braunfels, Texas.

Audrianna Alexis “Lexi” Jones ,12, died February 22, 2019. She was born on May 31, 2006 to O’Neal Jones Jr. and Audrey Marie Jones. Lexi was a 7th grade middle school student at Center Middle School in Center, Texas.

Estella Benavidez

Estella A. Benavidez, died on February 1, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Pearsall, on May 21, 1949, to Guadalupe and Olivia Alaniz. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Armando G. Benavidez, Sr; children Linda Benavidez of San Antonio, Armando Benavidez, Jr. of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Tedlin, Christlin, Miguel, and Matthew; great grandson Ezekiel. Estella graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 1998. After graduation, she worked as an early childhood educator. She continued her career as an ESL teacher at the Windom School District within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She retired from teaching in the fall of 2013. She resided in Pearsall, Texas for 64 years before moving to San Antonio, with her husband, they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in May 2019. Her hobbies included caring for her plants, cooking, and watching CNN.

Cary Alford

Cary Nathan Alford, age 72, of Pearsall, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Pearsall. He was born in Sinton on January 6, 1947, to Nathan and Corene (Crocker) Alford. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Michael Alford. Cary is survived by his brother, Brian Alford of Corpus Christi; sister, Neva Jane Gallagher of Fort Worth along with several nieces and nephews. Graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Pearsall Cemetery with interment immediately following. There was no visitation at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pearsall prior to service. Arrangements were under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home, Pearsall.

Estanislado Martinez

Estanislado Martinez, 88 of Dilley, died on February 26, 2019 in Pearsall. He was born on April 3, 1930 in Pearsall to Chencho V. Martinez and Aurelia Benavides Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Frank Martinez, Lupe Martinez, Lita Martinez, Feliz Martinez and Chencho Martinez. He is survived by his sons, Elizeo Gonzales of Poteet and Rudy Martinez of Lubbock; nieces Norma Martinez of Dilley and Veronica Maldonado of Dilley; two grandchildren and numerous cousins. Visitation was held on Saturday, March 2, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel in Dilley at 10 a.m. with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the Dilley Cemetery. Elias R. O’valle died on February 14, 2019 at the age of 90. He was born on October 3, 1928 to Estanislado and Petra O’valle.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Valeria H. O’valle; nephew, Pedro A. Vargas; brothers, Isidro R. O’valle, Domingo R. O’valle, Calletano R. O’valle, Torivio R. O’valle; sisters, Bentura O’valle Trevino, Minerva O’valle Guevarra; father, Estanislado R. O’valle

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Cabrera and his wife Martha and his niece Gloria (Reynaldo†) Perez; brother, Samuel R. O’valle and wife Piedad of Modesto, California; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 15, at Peters Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, January, 16, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Cotulla East Cemetery.

Rosario R. Flores died on February 23, 2019 at the age of 54. She was born on May 7, 1964 to Jesus and Carlota Flores. She is preceded in death by her father, Jesus Flores.

Rosario is survived by her mother, Carlota Flores; siblings, Cecilia Ho, Patricio Flores, Rachel (Leonel Calderon) Flores, Anselmo (Roxanne) Flores and Jesus (Crystal) Flores Jr.; along with numerous aunts, uncles, three nieces; three nephews and other relatives.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 26, at Peters Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 27, at 10 a.m. Internment will follow at a later date.

Irene Ramirez

Irene Ramirez, age 64 of Pearsall, died on Friday, February 15, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Pearsall on June 28, 1954, to Inosente and Paula Gonzales.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tomas Ramirez and her brother, Martin Gonzales.

Irene is survived by her husband, Juan P. Ramirez of Pearsall; sons, Juan Jr. and Melissa Ramirez of Pearsall, Christopher and Felicia Ramirez of Lytle, Thomas and Sara Ramirez of Lytle; daughters, Jeanne and Ruben Robles of Pearsall, Peggy and Jimmy Briseno of Pearsall, Shelby Ramirez of Pearsall; brothers, Claudio Gonzales of Devine, Antonio Gonzales of Pearsall; sisters, Carmen Kirksey of Minnesota, San Juanita Dorantes of Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
