Rosa Farias

Rosa Minerva Farias died on January 10, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born on July 3, 1933 to Manuel and Elvira Farias.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ercilia Canela, Maria Luisa Adams and Ramiro Farias.

She is survived by her siblings, Emma (Filiberto†) Ruiz, Manuel C. (Norma) Farias, Eluterio (Rose) Farias, Juan (Consuelo) Farias and Jesus (Estela) Farias; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 14, at Peters Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on January, 15, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Cotulla East Cemetery.

Enuelia Ortiz

Enuelia M. Ortiz, 77 of Pearsall, died away Sunday, January 27, 2019, in San Antonio.

She was born in Pearsall on August 19, 1941, to Reyes and Guadalupe (Garza) Martinez and is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnaldo Martinez; sisters, Guadalupe M. Sanchez, Minerva Rodriguez and Flora Ramos.

She is survived by her husband, Santos Ortiz of Pearsall; son, Orlando Ortiz of San Antonio; daughters, Norma Lisa Ortiz and Melissa Ortiz Jasso, both of Pearsall; brother, Reyes Martinez Jr. of Vernon; sisters, Belda Linda Nau of Forney, Nelia Olvera of Abilene, Martha A. Valverde of Waco, Marie Burson of Winters, Briselda Waldrum of Abilene and her six grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Escobar, Sean Matthew Ortiz, Zachary Taylor Ortiz, Alyssa Makayla Jasso, Jo Anthony Jasso and Savannah Riann Jasso.

Eva Moreno

Eva Moreno, 97 of Dilley, died on January 22, 2019 at her home.

She was born on September 20, 1921 in Divot to Adan Fonseca and Seferina Collazo Fonseca.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Claudio Moreno; son, Jose Luis Moreno, parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Claudio Moreno and wife Jo Ann of Colorado and Mariola Martinez of Dilley; brothers, Abraham Fonseca of Dilley and Joe Fonseca of San Antonio. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Claudio Moreno III, Veronica Cantu, Joseph Cantu, Moses Cantu and Claudia Cantu; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 25, at Belen Baptist Church in Dilley from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 26, at Belen Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Dilley Cemetery.

Joe Ed Harris

Joe Ed Harris, 86 of Pearsall, died at his home on Friday, January 25, 2019. He was born on August 15, 1932 in Pearsall to Finis and Charline (Satterwhite) Harris. He is preceded in death by his parents. He survived by his wife, Nancy of Pearsall; son, Ronald Turner Harris and wife, Amanda their children Michael, Blake and Katherine (Kate) of Tyler and son, Richard Joseph Harris and wife, Lisa and daughter Kelly of Pipe Creek and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, at First United Methodist Church in Pearsall. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home of Pearsall.

Patricia Stewart

Patricia Ann Stewart, age 70 of Dilley, died Monday, January 21, 2019, in San Antonio.

She was born in Edinburg on October 21, 1948, to Charles Andrew and Billie Dean (Boren) Gulley.

She is preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Stewart of Dilley; her mother, Billie Dean Gulley of Pearsall; son, Michael Allen Stewart of Stockdale; daughter, Melissa Stewart Richardson of Dilley; brothers, James Royce Gulley, Gerry Dean Gulley; sister, Janet Sue Churchill of all of Pearsall; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 26, in the First United Methodist Church in Dilley from 8:30 a.m. to service time. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Dilley Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pearsall prior to service.

Roque Rosales

Roque T. Rosales, 77 of Pearsall, died on January 14, 2019. He was born on August 16, 1941 in San Ignacio, Texas to Rosa Trevino and Agapito Rosales.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricardo Rosales; siblings, Chavela Valdez, Margarita Rosales, and Juan T. Rosales.

He is survived by his wife, Pascuala Del Real Rosales; children, Reynaldo Rosales and Norma of Pearsall, and Ruben Rosales and Alicia of Pearsall; siblings, Maria Rosales of Pearsall, Feliz Elizondo and Martin of Senimole and Manuel Rosales of Camp Wood; grandchildren, Sonia Maria Rosales, Reynaldo Rosales Jr., Michael Anthony Rosales, and Ruben James Rosales; five great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, January 18, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, January 19, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 10 a.m. Services will concluded at the church.

San Juana Robledo

San Juana V. Robledo, age 65, of Pearsall, died Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her residence.

She was born in Pearsall on April 16, 1953, to Francisco and Emma (Moreno) Villarreal.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rolando Robledo; parents; her son, Rolando Robledo Jr. and brothers, Pedro Villarreal and Reynaldo Villarreal.

San Juana is survived by her sons, David Robledo of Orange, Texas, Daniel Robledo of Pleasanton; daughters, Frances Robledo of Pearsall, Estella Robledo of Pleasanton; brother, Sabas Villarreal of Pearsall; sister, Christina Gutierrez of Dilley; 14 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.

Visitation was held Wednesday, January 23, in the Templo Lirio De Los Valles from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 24, at the Templo Lirio De Los Valles in Pearsall with interment to follow in the Frio County Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home, Pearsall.

Rolando Guerra Sr.

Rolando Guerra Sr., 65 of Dilley, died on January 12, 2019.

He was born on July 29, 1953 in Laredo to Eulalio E. Guerra and Eloisa Rodriguez Guerra.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Leonor Sanchez, Ida G. Rodriguez, Jose Maria Guerra all of Laredo.

He is survived by his children, Rachel Martinez and Jose of Cotulla, Raevon G. Molina and Danny of Dilley, Rolando E. Guerra Jr. and Brianna Teneyuca of Cotulla, and Rigo Guerra of Dilley; sister, Hilda Almendarez of Laredo; Sandra Guerra of Dilley; 12 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel-Dilley from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 25, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Dilley Cemetery.

Maria Ariza

Maria Angelica Ariza, age 55 of Pearsall, died Friday, January 18, 2019, in San Antonio. She was born in Mexico on March 18, 1963, to Avel Avila and Carmelita Ladinos.

She is preceded in death by her son, Audelio Ariza Jr. and her daughter, Angelica Ariza.

Maria is survived by her husband, Audelio Ariza of Pearsall; parents, Avel Avila of Houston and Carmen Ladinos of Mexico; daughters, Crystal Mares and husband Luis, Carmen Mares and husband Jose and Angelica Ariza all of Pearsall; numerous brothers and sisters; two grandchildren, Sophia Mares and Luis Mares Jr.

Visitation was held Sunday, January 20, in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 21, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall with interment following at the Frio County Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home, Pearsall.

Pedro Venegas

Pedro Venegas, 51, died on January 7, 2019 in Pearsall. He was born on October 7, 1967 in Lubbock to Isidro Venegas and Manuela Franco Tarango.

He is survived by his parents, Isidro Venegas of Mexico and Manuela Tarango; husband Lupe of Van Horn, Texas; brothers and sisters, Lupita Garcia and husband Jesse of Floresville, Johnny Venegas of Mexico, Chris Muro and wife Kimberly of Seattle, Washington, Isidro Venegas Jr. and wife Stacy of Temple, Efrain Venegas and wife Lupe of Temple and Fidel Venegas of Temple; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation were held on Thursday, January 10, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Services concluded at the funeral home.
