Leticia Fuentes

Leticia Campos Fuentes, 48 of Pearsall, died on December 14, 2018 in San Antonio.

She was born on September 22, 1970 in Uvalde to Adolfo Campos Jr. and Maria Elena Campos.

She is preceded in death by her nephew, Romaldo Trevino and uncle, Carlos “Monkey” Campos.

She is survived by her husband, Ricardo DeLeon of Pearsall; sons, Fermin Fuentes Jr. and Ricardo Raul Fuentes both of Pearsall; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolfo and Maria Campos of Encinal; brothers and sisters, Rachel C. Morales and husband Ramiro of Pearsall, Angie Banda and huband Anselmo of Pearsall, Ana Jane Trevino and husband Romaldo of Pearsall, Juan Jesus Campos of Encinal, Yolanda Campos of Encinal, Gloria Palma of Pearsall and Adolfo “Chico” Campos III of Encinal.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 17, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service held at 7 p.m.

Mary Fitch

Mary Frances Rouse Fitch, age 89 of Pearsall, died Friday, December 21, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 9, 1929, to Alton Dee and Johnie Mae (Brownlie) Rouse. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter Edward Fitch. Mary is survived by her son, Matt Fitch and wife Sheiladawn of Pearsall; daughters, Sandy Gutierrez and husband Ray of Pearsall, Lyn Applewhite and husband Billy of Pearsall, Susie Ambrose and husband Wayne of Schertz; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, in the First United Methodist Church in Pearsall with Rev. David Batchelor officiating, followed by burial at Pearsall Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First Methodist Church, 507 E. San Antonio, Pearsall, Texas 78061. There will be no visitation at Hurley Funeral Home prior to service. Arrangements are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home, Pearsall.

Antonio Maldonado

Antonio C. “Tony” Maldonado, age 76, of Moore, died on Friday, December 14, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 30, 1942, in Moore to Trinidad and Frances (Cubriel) Maldonado.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fernando Maldonado.

Antonio is survived by his wife Mary Snow Maldonado of Moore; son, Anthony Trinidad Maldonado of Moore; daughters, Arlene Frances Coury of San Antonio, Audrey Ann Gonzales of Derby; sisters, Roberta Davila of Austin, Beatrice Diaz of Moore; grandchildren, Camaran Perez and wife Shavonna, Autumn Snow Dufner and husband Corey, Nikita Wadell Coury, Caleb Lee Gonzales and wife Amber, Joshua Wayne Gonzales, Krystal Marieda Gonzales, Anthony Tyler Maldonado; two great- grandchildren, Camden Owen Dufner, Anua Snow Perez and two more on the way.

Juanita Ruiz

Juanita G. Ruiz of Pearsall, died Monday, December 10, 2018, in Humble, Texas.

She was born in Cotulla on May 16, 1934, to Gorgonio and Bentura (Diaz) Gonzalez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Amador Ruiz; her parents and her sister, Alicia Melendrez.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Luis Angel Ruiz and wife Gloria of Floresville, Amador Ruiz Jr. and wife Melba of Pearsall, Lauro Ruiz and wife Sally of San Antonio; daughter, Lisa Puente and husband Antonio Jr. of Humble, Nora Elda Martinez and husband Albert of San Antonio; sisters, Aurdra Trejo and Elodia Valle both of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Visitation was held Sunday, December 16, in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 17, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall. Services concluded at the church.

Ricardo Palacios

Ricardo D. Palacios, 75, died Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born at the old Mercy Hospital on downtown Jarvis Plaza in Laredo to Abraham G. Palacios and Mucia Salinas Palacios, on November 13, 1943.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Abraham Palacios, Jr.; sister Angela Palacios Shipton, and his granddaughter Charlotte Ellis Palacios.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Ricardo D. Palacios, Jr. of Encinal, George Abraham, Heather and Benicio Palacios of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Antonio Ignacio, Joelle and Sebastian Palacios of Seattle, Washington, daughter Virginia Elizabeth Palacios of Austin; his girlfriend, Sarah Lynn Appling and the mother of his children, Catherine M. Link; along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Rene Munoz

Rene Munoz, 50, of Pearsall died on November 27, 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born December 19, 1967 in Pearsall to Guadalupe Munoz and Rosa Morales.

He is survived by his parents; brothers, Lupe Munoz, Ricardo Munoz, Jaime Munoz; sister Cynthia Viesca; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at Templo Lirio De Los Valles on December 12.

Juan Gonzalez

Juan Manuel Gonzalez died on December 15, 2018 at the age of 65. He was born on February 2, 1953 to Esteban and Juanita Gonzalez.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hilario “Lalo” Gonzalez and Mingo Gonzalez.

Juan is survived by his wife, San Juana Gonzalez; children, Juan Manuel (Denise) Gonzalez Jr., Cecilia Michelle (Sammy) Arevalo, Darlene (J.R.) Lopez and Stephanie (Mike) Garcia; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Roberto (Amada) Gonzalez, Esteban (Josie) Gonzalez, Juanita (Rene) Salazar, Maria (Juan) Velasquez, Vatcha (Mingo) Torres and Mela (Amado†) Benavidez.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 17, at Peters Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Peters Funeral Home on, December 18, at 9 a.m. Interment followed at the Cotulla Southwest Cemetery.

James Leifeste

James Durwood Leifeste died on December 14, 2018 at the age of 93. He was born on August 13, 1925 to Erwin Charles and Ruby Irene Leifeste.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Leifeste and sister in law, Mary Leifeste.

James is survived by his wife, Lois C. Leifeste; children, Laura (Billy) Boatwright, James (Ken) Leifeste and Debbie Gohmert; grandchildren, Brandi (Douglas) Liere, Amanda (Ryan) Johnson, Brett (Lindsey) Boatwright, Shelly (Mark) Tufts, Shara (Aaron) Peace, Laci Leifeste, Jayce Leifeste, Leah (Layton) Herring and Lindsey (Jake) Keeton; great grandchildren, Tyler Liere, Logan Liere, Mason Liere, Dancie Johnson, Dason Johnson, Sadie Boatwright, Brett Boatwright, Kendall Herring, Taylon Herring, Ella Tuffs, Reid Tuffs, Hendrix Peace, Graham Peace and one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Donald (JoAnn) Leifeste and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pedro Garcia

Pedro G. Garcia, died on Monday, December 10, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born on April 7, 1921 in Cotulla, to Jose Maria Garcia and Sara Sirlos Garcia.

He is preceded in death by his wife Olga Garcia.

Pedro is survived by his six children, Pedro G. Garcia Jr. (Florinda), Mary Lou Rodriguez (Lupe), Jose Maria Garcia (Gloria), Laura Cortez (Roel), Alma Gallegos (Juan Jose), and Roy Garcia (Nancy Bryant); 12 grandchildren, Pedro Garcia III (Tabitha), Patrick Garcia (Rosario), Mark Rodriguez (Michelle), Cynthia D. Alice White

Alice Ann (Winters) White, formally of Moore, died Saturday, December 8, 2018 in San Antonio, at the age of 81. Alice was born October 21, 1937 in Bigfoot to Clovus A. and Lillian R. (Holmes) Winters. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Thomas Wesley White. Alice is survived by her sisters, Myrtle Sue Jarcutowicz and Clovis Jane Tomlinson; along with nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Sunday, December 9, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home Stateroom. A graveside service was held Monday, December 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Longview Cemetery in Bigfoot, with the Rev. Billy Morse officiating. Interment followed the service.
