By Manuel Azocar III

Having struggled to find their footing all year and not being their usual dominant selves at invitational meets during the season, Dilley was well at home in district competition, running away with its eighth district championship in a row in action at the 30-3A meet at Gosch Field on Monday, October 19. In an effort that seemed to dismiss its struggles this season, the Wolves had six of the top 16 runners and five of the top nine in rolling to 28 first place points, well ahead of second place Hebbronville, who scored 47 points.

Both units displayed their strengths as the defense forced a pair of stops in the first quarter while the offense, led by big-play running back Adrian Leal, moved the ball down the field.
