PCBO league hosts 19 teams

Pearsall Community Basketball Organization closed out its inaugural summer league season having hosted 19 area high school basketball teams during the event. Teams competed in varsity and junior varsity boys' and girls’ divisions. Participants came from Pearsall, Hondo, Uvalde, Carrizo Springs, Crystal City, Pleasanton, Knippa and Charlotte and played two games a night twice a week for a 16-game schedule.

Dilley runners earn spots at State Games of Texas

The Dilley Running Wolf Pack Summer Track Team participated in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Track and Field Region 03 meet at Bob Shelton Stadium in Buda on Friday July 10 and had a number of athletes qualify for the state event in College Station. The TAAF State Games of Texas are annually held in College Station and are scheduled for July 30 to August 2 this year.

PCBO Summer hoops season comes to a close..

The Pearsall Community Basketball Organization Summer League event wrapped up play on Thursday, July 2 with its final round of games. The event featured action in the boys’ and girls’ divisions and includedseveral games during the week with local teams and others from around the area.

Pearsall major division

Pearsall major division all-stars (L-R) Jonathan Morales, Joey Amaya, Marcos Salazar and Damian Longoria achieved a rare local little league feat as the players hit four homeruns in a single game in a 14-0 shutout win against Uvalde on Thursday, June 25. Morales hit a grand slam in his at-bat.

Pearsall, Dilley locals on East team help top West 13-8.

High humidity replaced springtime temperatures but didn't stop the offenses from hitting their peak as the East beat the West in the inaugural South Texas All-Star Baseball Game Friday night, June 19 in Pearsall. Teams were comprised of players from local schools and divided into East and West divisions. The East All-Stars, which included Pearsall and Dilley players, topped the West 13-8 in the contest.
