‘MY HEALTHY CHILD’ classes are held 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every second Monday of the month at San Pablo United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 421 West Trinity, Pearsall; attendees receive two free packages of diapers for children up to age 4. THE TEXAS CAMEL CORPS educational display featuring live camels will be at the Jail Museum and Fireman’s Park in Pearsall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, March 3 and 4, with information on how camels were used for military purposes in Texas. Area schools will send groups to visit the exhibit.

AWARDS CEREMONY hosted by the Caddel-Smith Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas on Saturday, March 7 in the hospitality room at El Progreso Memorial Library at 2 p.m. to announce and hand out prizes to area winners in the annual DRT Texas History Essay contest. 2020 topics included The Texian Navy and Republic of Texas Homes and Public Buildings: Structural Challenges of Texas Homesteaders.
