FOOD DRIVE hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Cotulla. The church is accepted canned goods and non-perishable items. A collection tub is available at the Cotulla/La Salle County Chamber of Commerce, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED by the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Texas to help speak up for children in foster and custody hearings. Training classes are available; call Connie Lopez at (830) 267-1025 for information.

BELONG, a nonprofit Community-Based Care provider for abused and neglected children, is in need of items for a family in Cotulla. Needed are a table with four chairs, a child’s 5-point harness toddler seat, and a baby gate. OLD PHOTOS of the Plaza Florita and of Florence Chiles Maltsberger are needed by the city of Cotulla for its historic restoration project at the plaza, which is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its cultural significance to Cotulla. “PHILL THE BOX” clothing drive hosted as a fundraiser by the Dilley Band Boosters, 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 4, in front of the Lowe’s grocery store at Hwy 85 and IH-35 in Dilley. Boosters and students collect bags of adult and children’s clean clothing, shoes, and accessories, handbags, backpacks, hats, gloves, ties, belts and wallets. Bake sale also scheduled at same location. All proceeds go to the Dilley band program.
