Authorities from several law enforcement agencies arrested Elberto Trevino, a convicted felon, on a weapons possession charge following a raid of his home.
Pearsall police say the raid on Thursday, July 28, was prompted after an investigation was opened on 48-year-old Trevino for the alleged sale of illegal narcotics.
According to a report on the case, officers discovered 20 grams of heroin and 20 grams of methamphetamine inside the home on Oak Street.
The methamphetamine was packaged in small bags indicative of drug trafficking, the report noted. A further search of the home revealed that Trevino was in possession of a stolen firearm.
Trevino was transported to the Karnes County Jail and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. The department has noted this week that state authorities involved in the narcotics seizure are expected to lodge felony drug charges against Trevino this week.
The 281st District Judge’s office, state police, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and the Frio County Sheriff’s Office assisted police in the case.
