Twenty-one individuals were arrested in La Salle County over a two-week period in December on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges as well as on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those being held on behalf of other jurisdictions and those serving commitment (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, December 11, and Sunday, Dec. 24, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Gregorio Sigifredo Sosa, 23, of Encinal; arrested 6:48 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor unlawfully carrying a weapon, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 17 hours.
Jose Aguilar Jr., 38, of Cotulla; arrested 11:51 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor disorderly conduct; released on bond after five hours.
Jimmie Lee O’Neal Jr., 23, of Houston; arrested 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on three third-degree felony charges of smuggling of persons; remained in jail Thursday, Dec. 28.
Angelica Mae Castillo, 27, of Cotulla; arrested 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after two days, 21 hours.
Lakendrick Lamont Simpson, 24, of Grand Prairie, Texas; arrested 7:59 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Navarro County for failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of marijuana; released on bond after 17 hours.
Abel Garcia Jr., 50, of Alton, Texas; arrested 10:06 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 11 hours.
Rolando Jesse Perales, 57, of Cotulla; arrested 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pc. 1 Justice of the Peace for seatbelt violation, warrants issued by Pct. 3 JP for driving without a license and failure to appear in court; released on bond after 10 hours.
Rafael Jimenez Jr., 47, of Laredo; arrested 6:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, by the Encinal PD; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (four counts), warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 JP for driving without a license, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and failure to appear in court, warrants issued by Pct. 2 JP for driving without a license and failure to maintain financial responsibility; released on bond after one day, four hours.
Anthony Luis Salazar, 39, of Cotulla; arrested 7:09 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 2 JP for seatbelt violation, driving while license is not valid, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and driving with an open container of alcohol; released on bond after 19 hours.
Kendall Renae Younger, 30, of Cotulla; arrested 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury; released on bond after 15 hours.
Benito Castillo Jr., 51, of Cotulla; arrested 7:57 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after eight hours.
Frank V Settles III, 38, of San Antonio; arrested 7:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after two days, 21 hours.
Carlos Patricio Gonzalez, 35, of Encinal; arrested 3:17 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, by the Encinal PD; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 2 JP for driving with an open container of alcohol, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and warrant issued by US Marshals Service for probation violation; remained in jail Thursday, Dec. 28.
William Tyler Springs, 27, of Alice, Texas; arrested 8:18 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for second-degree felony burglary of a building and possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Thursday, Dec. 28.
Jesus Nieto Jr., 29, of Cotulla; arrested 8:02 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal mischief; released on bond after 14 hours.
Christine Lynn Fritz, 29, of San Antonio; arrested 11:54 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after six hours.
Ricardo Gomez Jr., 36, of Laredo; arrested 4:02 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony smuggling of persons for pecuniary benefit (two counts), second-degree felony smuggling of persons under age 18; released on bond after one day, two hours.
Ruben Rene Espinola IV, 29, of San Angelo, Texas; arrested 1:08 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, by the Encinal PD; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 2 JP for driving while license is not valid, warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for misdemeanor violating a promise to appear in court; released on bond after two hours.
Jose Rodolfo Gonzalez, 42, of Cotulla; arrested 12:33 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, by the Sheriff’s Office; driving while license is suspended; released on bond after 10 hours.
Eric James Laurel, 37, of Austin; arrested 10:22 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated / with an open container of alcohol; released on bond after 18 hours.
Lorena Perales, 53, of Cotulla; arrested 11:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 15 hours.
