Pearsall’s Team Black topped Team Green 143-113 in total points to win the annual Green and Black Track Intra-Squad Scrimmage at Mack Laxson Field last week as the team kicked off its track and field season.
Held over the course of three days, athletes competed in a modified track meet to prep for the season opener this week in Marion.
“We had a great time competing against each other and building that team chemistry,” PHS Head Track Coach Julian Hernandez said. “We thought our athletes looked strong for it being early February.
“We had a few kids surprise us and run really well in certain events. We are looking forward to getting our season started officially.”
Pearsall will open the year on Thursday afternoon, February 15 at Bulldog Stadium in Marion. The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
