Return of the champs…
Four-time San Antonio Stock Show Ranch Rodeo champions, the Thompson Ranches team, will be in action on Thursday, February 15 at 7 p.m. in the ranch rodeo finals and team roping event. The event will be televised on the Cowboy Channel. The team regularly competes in events in South Texas and won the SA Ranch Rodeo event in 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2022. The team also had the top horse in 2020, “Zans Lena Badger.” This ranch gelding will again be competing in the ranch rodeo finals in the Southland Incentive and will also sell Saturday in the Invitational horse sale. Owned by Lew Thompson and family, Thompson Ranches operates and manages over 60,000 acres in South Texas and its headquarters is located in Pearsall. The ranches are a cow/calf operation with 2,600 Gray Brahman cows owned by South Texas Cattle Marketing Ranches.
