Alberto (Tico) Lopez Valdez, 70, died on March 13, 2024 in Pearsall. He was born on March 17, 1953 in Pearsall to Teodora Lopez Valdez and Macario Valdez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, brother-in-law Artemio Perez, and uncles Santiago Lopez and Lino Lopez.
Tico is survived by his children Albert Valdez Jr. (Yovonka) of Pearsall, Valerie Hernandez (Rafael) of Houston, Nathan Valle Sr. (Darlene) of New Braunfels and Alyson Perez (Phillip) of Pearsall, siblings Mary Perez of Pearsall and Rudy Valdez (Rebecca) of Devine. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Tico worked in the oil fields as a truck driver for most of his life and also enjoyed fishing in his free time with family and friends. He enjoyed music and would sing and play guitar.
Pallbearers include Nathan Valle Sr., Daniel Holt, Nathan Valdez, Rafael Hernandez, Robert Longoria Jr., Marcos Salazar, Ramiro Otero and John Fuente.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 3 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23 at The Shepherds Flock Christian Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels, Pearsall.
