Taylor, 76

Carol Taylor, 76, of Pearsall, died on May 15, 2024. She was born on September 12, 1947 in Houston to James Arthur Wells Jr. and Viola Mae Vandiver Wells.

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Howard Rotner, father-in-law and mother-in-law Noble and Gay Taylor, sons Travis Boone and Sean Jacob Taylor, brother Douglas Wells and her sister Lela Kirsch.

Carol is survived by her husband, Noble, daughter Michelle Scott, son Noble Taylor III, daughter Shauna Garrett and husband Steve, daughter Leah McDaniel and husband Bill, daughter Meghan Taylor, grandchildren Jacob Wilson, Gage Carter, Kadence McDaniel, and Wyatt Cole Taylor, sister Judy Barnett, sister Nancy Schulze and husband Alfred, brother Chris Wells and wife Jodee, sister Mary Wells Stevens and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was the third of seven children.

Carol’s family moved from Houston to East Texas and then to Missouri when she was a child. Carol attended Central High School in Springfield, Missouri, where she sang in the school choir and played in the orchestra. Four years after graduating, Carol moved back to Houston, where she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses, including Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

In 1977, Carol met her “handsome cowboy” Noble Taylor. Carol and her 12-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son moved with Noble to his hometown of Pearsall later that year.

Carol worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Pearsall until 1979, when she purchased the Sears Catalog Store. She operated the Sears store until it was sold in 1993. She then worked as the administrative assistant at Frio Regional hospital for several years. At the time of her passing, Carol worked as secretary for First Baptist Church Pearsall and the Tree of Life Learning Academy.

Carol was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in Pearsall since June 12, 1988. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible School, and helped out with other church activities in any way she could.

Noble, and his two daughters, Shauna and Leah, and Carol and her two children Michelle and Sean, created a blended family as the couple were married in their home on December 27, 1981. They had two sons together, Travis Boone Taylor and Noble Acie Taylor III.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pearsall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tree of Life Learning Academy, 204 S. Walnut St., Pearsall, Texas 78061.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Treviño Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels, Pearsall.
