The Mavericks 4H 3rd annual Baggin & Snaggin fundraiser event is scheduled for Saturday, October 12 at the Frio County Junior Livestock Show Barn in Pearsall.
The event, which includes a Cabrito Cook-Off, Kids Goat Ranch Rodeo, Goat Roping and Cornhole Tournament, is an annual fundraiser for the Mavericks 4H Club and provides funds for scholarships as well as for travel to competitions as well as for educational and leadership purposes.
The Kids Ranch Rodeo begins at noon and is limited to six, 3-person teams. The event is for those 15 years old and under and entry fee is $120. It includes four events: goat branding, goat tying, goat milking and goat dressing. Entry deadline is October 11 at noon. Text entries to Graves at (830) 317-1442.
The goat roping is at 4 p.m. for Mix Roping and 6 p.m. for the Open Roping and will be $10 per side/$20 per team 3 Head PA 1 World Series Style 60 percent payback
Crossfire rule enforced. To compete in the mix roping, 1 roper must be one of the following: 14 years or under, 50 years or older, or female.
