COUNTY ARRESTS
Twenty-two individuals were arrested in La Salle County over the past two weeks on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges as well as on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, September 16, and Sunday, Sept. 29, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Randy Perez, 54, of Cotulla; arrested 8:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for second-degree failure to comply with sex offender registry; remained in jail Monday, Sept. 30.
Jose Aguilar, 68, of Cotulla; arrested 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after 20 hours.
Jorge Zertuche Jr., 18, of Cotulla; arrested 6:51 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony assault on a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation; released on bond after eight hours.
George Munoz, 62, of Pearsall; arrested 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in Hays County for failure to appear in court on a first-degree felony charge of continual sexual assault of a child, second-degree felony indecency with a child by sexual contact, third-degree felony indecency with a child by exposure (three counts); transferred after eight days, 17 hours.
Thomas Anthony Almond, 35, of Dickinson, Texas; arrested 7:16 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, Class A misdemeanor unlawfully carrying a weapon; released on bond after 17 hours.
Pedro Espinosa, 42, of San Antonio; arrested 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in Bexar County for Class B misdemeanor terroristic threat; released on bond after 14 hours.
Gerardo Abraham Ramos, 41, of Laredo; arrested 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after ten hours.
Samuel Cederrius Wells, 35, of Jacksonville, Texas; arrested 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for third-degree felony assault on a public servant (three counts); remained in jail Monday, Sept. 30.
Vanessa Nazyelly Bernal, 32, of Del Valle, Texas; arrested 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, by the Encinal PD; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for misdemeanor failure to maintain financial responsibility; released on bond after ten hours.
Jesse Apolonio Martinez Jr., 19, of Dilley; arrested 11:44 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after ten hours.
Jose Aguilar Jr., 39, of Cotulla; arrested 12:49 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; released on bond after 23 hours.
William Meza, 19, of Laredo; arrested 8:49 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, by the Texas DPS; second-degree felony smuggling of persons with likelihood of serious bodily injury or death (five counts); released on bond after five days, two hours.
Santos Roberto Hernandez-Cruz, 36, of Antioch, Tennessee; arrested 11:46 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issied in Denver County for failure to appear in court; remained in jail on hold for immigration authorities Monday, Sept. 30.
Randy Martinez, 27, of Laredo; arrested 3:03 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in Hays County for theft of property up to $750 in value; released on bond after 22 hours.
Latroy Akhim Fabela, 20, of Cotulla; arrested 2:08 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a Class B misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana, warrant issued in El Paso County for felony probation violation; remained in jail Monday, Sept. 30.
Tyron Hector Roman, 31, of Cotulla; arrested 6:53 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor public intoxication; released on bond after 11 hours.
Aydan Joe Martinez, 17, of Cotulla; arrested 12:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated / with an open container of alcohol; released on bond after 12 hours.
Stevan Price Saunders, 43, of Cotulla; arrested 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by Pct. 1 JP for misdemeanor violating a promise to appear and failure to appear in court; released on bond after three hours.
Cleopetra Aguirre, 36, of Cotulla; arrested 2:42 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Frio County for Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury; remained in jail Monday, Sept. 30.
Julio Salvador Amaya-Saavedra, 29, of Hebbronville, Texas; arrested 2:37 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor failure to identify as a fugitive or providing false information, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2; remained in jail Monday, Sept. 30.
Mario Ortega-Ramirez, 59, of San Antonio; arrested 10:13 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after 14 hours.
Domingo David Ramirez, 41, of Cotulla; arrested 2:35 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member, third-degree felony assault on a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation; remained in jail Monday, Sept. 30.
