COUNTY ARRESTS
Twenty-eight individuals were arrested in La Salle County over a two-week period early this month on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges as well as on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
One man was arrested twice.
In addition to those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, October 28, and Sunday, November 10, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Roseann Gonzalez, 53, of Cotulla; arrested 12:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after one day, 16 hours.
Rafael Gutierrez Jr., 34, of Cotulla; arrested 10:35 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace for driving without a license (two counts) and failure to appear in court (two counts), misdemeanor warrants issued by Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court (two counts; released on bond after four hours.
Jacob Charles McGuire, 29, of Sandpoint, Idaho; arrested 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (eight counts), state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; released on bond after seven days, one hour.
Oscar Flores-Martinez, 30, of Laredo; arrested 7:49 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle, second-degree felony smuggling of persons under age 18, state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, third-degree felony smuggling of persons (seven counts); remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11 on hold for immigration authorities.
Ernesto Serna Jr., 36, of Laredo; arrested 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle and third-degree felony smuggling of persons; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Juan de Dios Aguero, 29, of Rio Bravo, Texas; arrested 6:58 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued by Pct. 2 JP for misdemeanor driving without a license, warrant issued in Laredo for third-degree felony theft of property, warrants issued in Frio County for failure to appear in court on Class A misdemeanor evading arrest and state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; released on bond after 19 hours.
Victor Manuel Torres, 29, of Rio Bravo, Texas; arrested 7:03 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance; released on bond after 17 hours.
Juan Lara III, 27, of Lubbock, Texas; arrested 8:09 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (ten counts); released on bond after 20 hours.
Jesus Ramirez Jr., 32, of Cotulla; arrested 9:57 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor theft of property up to $750 in value; released on bond after six hours. Arrested 4:34 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after 21 hours.
Michael Gandara, 42, of Pearsall; arrested 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for probation violation on third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Idalia DeLeon, 44, of Cotulla; arrested 5:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by Pct. 3 JP for child safety belt violation, driving while license is not valid (two counts), and failure to appear in court, warrants issued by Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court, open container violation and traveling with an unrestrained child under age 5, warrants issued in La Salle County for failure to appear in court and failure to maintain financial responsibility; released on bond after three days, 17 hours.
Rogelio Alvarado, 69, of Cotulla; arrested 11:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Joanne Garza Canales, 57, of Cotulla; arrested 11:41 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after eight days, 20 hours.
Jeffrey Lynn Stroud, 41, of Dilley; arrested 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for Class B misdemeanor harassment by electronic communications; released on bond after 15 hours.
Tony Lee Garcia, 29, of Dilley; arrested 1:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court to revoke probation on a state jail felony charge of burglary of a building; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Sidney Elisavette Fores, 31, of Cotulla; arrested 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after nine hours.
Thamer Al Ibrahimi, 52, of Detroit, Michigan; arrested 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after one day.
Billy Ray Davila, 21, of Laredo; arrested 8:38 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, warrants issued by Pct. 2 JP for violating driver license restrictions and speeding; released on bond after 21 hours.
Jaime Alfredo Cubriel, 38, of Cotulla; arrested 11:46 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after ten hours.
Liza Marie Sanchez, 45, of Cotulla; arrested 10:29 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor warrants issued by Pct. 1 JP for driving without a license (two counts); released after one day, seven hours.
Eduardo Garza, 47, of Laredo; arrested 9:34 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts); remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Veronica Cadena, 50, of Manor, Texas; arrested 8:58 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by Pct. 2 JP for driving without a license; released on bond after 12 hours.
Homero Villarreal, 23, of Laredo; arrested 10:57 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, by the Encinal PD; second-degree felony smuggling of persons for pecuniary benefit; released on bond after 20 hours.
Jesse Anthony Aguilar, 42, of Cotulla; arrested 1:49 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing injury to a family member; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Roberto Leo Donato, 43, of San Antonio; arrested 4:19 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor violating a bond or protective order; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Alejandro Claudio, 29, of Laredo; arrested 7:12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, by the Encinal PD; warrants issued by Pct. 2 JP for child safety belt violation, speeding, driving without a license, warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court, warrants issued in Webb County for family violence assault causing bodily injury, criminal mischief up to $750 in damages, assault causing bodily injury to a family member; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
Andres Luna Jr., 57, of Cotulla; arrested 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor theft of property up to $750 in value, warrant issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on a third-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, Nov. 11.
