A wintry morning

Greeted residents in Frio and La Salle counties on Tuesday, January 21, after freezing temperatures and light precipitation left a dusting of snow across the region, although conditions were not off putting to a flock of chickens in Pearsall, pecking for their breakfast between the snowflakes and frozen grasses. Winter conditions rendered roadways hazardous, however, as black ice coated many highways throughout Texas and contributed to several collisions.
