CITY, SCHOOL ELCTIONS 2025

Jamie Martinez
Jaime Martinez has announced his candidacy for election to Place 7 on the Cotulla ISD Board of Trustees.
The election will be held Saturday, May 3.
Born and raised in Cotulla, Martinez attended the Welhausen School, Amanda Burks Elementary, the Frank Newman Junior High School and Cotulla High School before going on to earn his bachelor’s degree in music education from Texas A&I University.
With over three decades of experience in education, Martinez served for ten years as assistant band director at Dilley ISD and twenty years as head band director and director of music at Cotulla ISD before retiring in 2024.
“I have witnessed at first hand the challenges and opportunities facing local schools and the students of our community,” the candidate said. “I believe that my passion for education and my experience in serving our community equip me to make a meaningful contribution to the board.
“As a board member, I aim to collaborate with others to ensure that every student receives a high-quality education tailored to their individual needs,” Martinez said. “I am committed to prioritizing academics and providing teachers and staff with the necessary tools for success.”
Martinez said he will be honored to serve on the Cotulla ISD Board of Trustees in order to continue serving the community.
“I humbly request the community’s support in the people’s vote for me to Place 7 on the school board,” the candidate said. “I firmly believe that positive changes can be made in the lives of students and the community.”
