Driver escapes serious injury; SB lanes closed 12 hours
The southbound lanes of IH-35 in Frio County were shut down for nearly 12 hours Monday, April 21, after a freight truck carrying a load of pork belly overturned.
According to a preliminary report on the case, emergency responders were dispatched shortly before 5 a.m. after a call was received regarding a freight truck that had overturned near Milemarker 115.

Highway closures on Monday allowed wrecker crews to clean up the debris from a freighter crash near Moore
Texas state troopers, the Moore Volunteer Fire Department, Frio County sheriff’s deputies and paramedics from Allegiance responded to the scene.
The freight truck driver, identified as a man from North Texas, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. As of press time, emergency responders had not confirmed contributing factors that caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle.
The southbound lanes of the interstate were reopened shortly after 2 p.m. but the highway access road remained closed until 4 p.m.
