DIVISION ONE RATINGS

DIVISION ONE RATINGS of ‘Superior’ were awarded to each of the high school marching bands from Frio and La Salle counties (Photos above, from top – Pearsall HS Maverick Band, Dilley HS Grey Wolf Band, and Cotulla HS Cowboy Band) after their respective Region XI contest performances for judges on Saturday, October 18. Pearsall competed with 4A schools at Judson ISD while Dilley and Cotulla competed with 3A schools at Hondo ISD. Each has earned advancement to the Area E competition and a chance at ranking for eligibility to the state marching contest. Bands are judged on musical performance, marching accuracy, and special effects. The 4A schools’ Area E contest will be at Corpus Christi Calallen on Saturday, Oct. 25; 3A schools in Area E compete at Beeville on Saturday, November 1. (Courtesy photos)
