Pearsall got off to a quick start and rolled to a 64-39 victory over Laredo Harmony in the basketball opener on Saturday, November 15.
Jeremy Rodriguez led the team with 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal. Devin Castillo added 19 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and three steals for Pearsall.
Ayden Rodriguez tallied nine points, eight boards, four assists and seven steals in a tough defensive effort.
The Mavs jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the first and added 18 more points in the second to pull out to a 36-16 halftime advantage.
Both teams tallied 13 points apiece in the third as the margin remained 20 points as the Mavs led 49-29 after three periods of play.
Pearsall then outscored Harmony by five in the fourth and final stanza to claim the 25-point victory.
The Mavs won the contest in transition and points of turnovers. They held a 15-4 advantage in transition points and outscored Harmony 24-10 in points off turnovers.
