19 teams vying for titles in boys’, girls’ divisions at annual Maverick event.
Pearsall plays host to its annual hoops tournament this weekend as the Mavs and Lady Mavs welcome 19 teams to the event which kicks off on Thursday, November 20.
In the boys’ division, 12 teams will compete in four Pools and then compete in bracket play on Friday and Saturday.
The girls’ division will feature ten teams in two Pools. Pool play will take place on Thursday and Friday with bracket play slated for Saturday.
Pearsall, San Antonio Southside, Rocksprings, SA Cole, Uvalde, Laredo Harmony, SA South San, Beeville, Utopia, Medina Valley, Laredo Cigarroa and SA Memorial will participate in the boys’ division.
Pearsall, Comfort, Utopia, Dilley, Hondo, Cotulla, St. Mary’s Hall, Leakey, SA Stacy and Lutheran Academy are entered in the girls’ division at the event.
The Mavericks have a pair of games on Thursday as they will take on Rocksprings at 1 p.m. and Southside at 7 p.m. in the main gymnasium.
The Lady Mavs will have two games on Thursday and two more on Friday. They will take on Dilley at 5:30 p.m. and Utopia at 8 p.m. on Thursday and then face Comfort at 1 p.m. and Hondo at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Dilley will likewise have four games over the opening two days as they take on Comfort at 8:30 a.m. and Pearsall at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday, they face Utopia at 1 p.m. and Hondo at 4 p.m.
Cotulla will take on Stacy in an 8:30 a.m. contest and St. Mary’s Hall at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. On Friday, the Cowgirls take on Leakey at 8:30 a.m. and Lutheran at 1 p.m.
