COWGIRLS POWERLIFTING
Garcia named Top Lightweight Lifter with dominant performance in 97-lb. division.
Cotulla’s powerlifting Cowgirls earned another championship title last week after playing host to their invitational meet on Wednesday, January 21.
Teams from Dilley, Natalia, Lytle, Carrizo Springs, and La Pryor attended the meet, bringing nearly 100 athletes to compete.
Alessandra Garcia, Brooklyn Kuenstler, EJ Zertuche, Jocelyn Ramirez, Victoria Rodriguez, Elyssa Gonzalez and Kamryn Obregon all won their divisions to pace the Cowgirls to yet another team title.
Garcia was named the event’s Top Lightweight Lifter for her efforts in the 97-lb. weight class.
She tallied a total weight of 660 lbs. with lifts of 250 in the squat, 150 in the bench press and 260 in the deadlift.
Kuenstler was tops at 114 lbs. with a total weight of 675 lbs. while Zertuche won the 123-lb. weight class with a lift of 710 lbs.
Ramirez won the 181-lb. division with a lift of 875 lbs. while Rodriguez won thr 220-lb. weight class with a total weight of 870 lbs. Gonzalez took gold at 242 lbs. with a lift of 655 lbs. and Obregon was tops at 242 and over with a total weight of 760 lbs.

Cotulla will return to action on Wednesday, February 4 at the Dilley Invitational Meet.
