COUNTY ARRESTS
Seventeen individuals were arrested in La Salle County over the past two weeks on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges and on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, February 16, and Sunday, March 1, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Arturo Blanco Jr., 22, of Laredo; arrested 12:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 13 hours.
Johnathan Lee Pedraza, 24, of Corpus Christi, Texas; arrested 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for second-degree felony smuggling of persons under age 18 (two counts) and third-degree felony smuggling of persons (two counts); remained in jail Monday, March 2.
Gonzalo Alberto Hernandez, 30, of San Antonio; arrested 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for second-degree felony smuggling of persons (14 counts) and third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle; remained in jail Monday, March 2.
Arjiel Martinez, 20, of Laredo; arrested 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, by the Encinal PD; misdemeanor warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace for operating a vehicle with fictitious license plates and failing to maintain financial responsibility; released on bond after 14 hours.
Zabrina Cervantes Flores, 39, of Cotulla; arrested 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, warrants issued in La Salle District Court for probation violation on third-degree felony tampering with physical evidence and probation violation on third-degree felony possession of prohibited substance in a correctional facility; remained in jail Monday, March 2.
BB Sackett, 18, of Cotulla; arrested 6:28 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor violating a bond or protective order; released on bond after 17 hours.
Alberto Sustaita, 30, of Indio, California; arrested 1:32 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after ten hours.
Austin James Galarza, 31, of Laredo; arrested 11:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while license is not valid (with prior conviction), Class A misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (second offense), and warrant issued by Pct. 2 JP for misdemeanor driving while license is not valid; released on bond after one day, two hours.
Gabriel Hernandez, 58, of Laredo; arrested 5:02 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 18 hours.
Esmeralda Gonzalez, 46, of Cotulla; arrested 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, by the Sheriff’s Office; misdemeanor warrants issued by Pct. 1 JP for driving without a license (two counts); released on bond after 14 hours.
Noe Nieto, 29, of Cotulla; arrested 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by Pct. 2 JP for misdemeanor child safety belt violation; released on bond after five hours.
Matias Garcia III, 55, of Cotulla; arrested 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by Austin Parole Board for felony parole violation; remained in jail Monday, March 2.
John Bryan Meredith, 41, of Laredo; arrested 9:38 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (four counts); remained in jail Monday, March 2.
Bryan Rory Nouchi-Edwards, 37, of San Antonio; arrested 5:27 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, Class A misdemeanor unlawfully carrying a weapon, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 19 hours.
Eric Lee Galvan, 37, of Cotulla; arrested 7:58 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in Frio County for failure to appear in court on Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after six hours. Pedro Vinton, 33, of Cotulla; arrested 11:05 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, third-degree felony tampering with physical evidence, Class A misdemeanor evading arrest; remained in jail Monday, March 2.
Bunny Colette Gold, 37, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; arrested 5:23 p.m. Sunday, March 1, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; remained in jail Monday, March 2.
