Crew members of the Pearsall Towing service undertake the delicate task of righting an overturned 18-wheel freighter with a belly-dump trailer load of gravel at the intersection of FM 1581 and the IH-35 access road on the outskirts of Pearsall on Monday morning, May 18. Pearsall police officers at the scene reported that the truck driver had emerged from the wreckage without serious injury and that the incident appeared to have occurred after the driver negotiated a left turn from the eastbound farm-to-market road to the northbound access road near the Refuel gas station and convenience store at an unsafe speed, causing the rig to tip onto its side and spill its gravel load. Northbound access road traffic was diverted for a short time Monday during the clean-up operation.
