LAW ENFOREMENT NEWS
La Salle County Sheriff Anthony Zertuche presided over a brief ceremony Monday, July 31, to administer the oath of office and pin a badge on the newest member of his law enforcement team, welcoming Laredo native Deputy Edwin Gonzalez. The new officer is a 2023 graduate of the Law Enforcement Academy at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde and comes to La Salle County after serving two years as a correctional officer for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in the county jail. He has begun his training on full-time patrol accompanied by a La Salle County officer this week and will familiarize himself with the community. (Courtesy photo)
